寶萊塢同志片「聽見愛你的聲音」（LOEV）勇奪以色列「特拉維夫同志影展」觀眾票選最佳影片，男主角德魯甘尼許卻在拍完該片後，於去年1月因肺結核病逝家中，讓影迷們喟嘆不已，德魯生前不但能歌善舞，還會作曲，前景一片看好，卻因接演同志片可能觸法，不過如今他已離世，這部同志片也在國際影展上大放光芒，更獲選全球近20個影展放映，最感人的是，德魯演技也獲得家人肯定，他的父母還特地出席影展放映，欣賞他最後一部電影。
近年印度修法，同性戀被視為犯罪，連帶也使「聽見愛你的聲音」無法在印度上映，個性反骨的德魯甘尼許，他不畏惡法，執意演出片中【博客來錢幣/郵票推薦書單】懷才不遇的音樂才子薩希，這是他首次挑戰同志角色，還在片中大談男男三角戀，徘徊在魯蛇男友與已婚新歡之間，感情左右為難，演出相當動人。
德魯甘尼許在朋友推薦下參與試鏡，他天真帶著憂鬱的眼神，立刻深獲導演蘇丹舒薩里亞的喜愛，也被劇組視為飾演薩希的最佳人選，但德魯卻反而產生了猶豫，「我要演英雄，不能演這角色」，德魯甘尼許雖很愛「聽見愛你的聲音」劇本，卻憂心演出該片，可能會對他日後的發展造成阻礙。讓人意外的是，當晚德魯就致電給導演，態度不但大逆轉，還表達他孤注一擲、挑戰惡法的演出決心，讓導演薩里亞既欣喜又感動，該片將於8/19在台上映。更多udn報導：直播XX 超乎你想像的刺激！·日本人嫌台灣禮儀糟？原來真相是…
